Barricade Services also has the expertise to draw traffic control prints, create CAD drawings, and draw engineered stamped drawings. Gary has drawn thousands of traffic control plans over the years for his customers. For a company like Barricade Services, safety and reliability are vitally important. You cannot stay in business in this field unless your work reputation is impeccable. Employees provide both scheduled and emergency services, and they are ready to work 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. The work is demanding, complicated, and fast-paced, but the employees are committed to doing the job right every time, no matter what. The company is especially committed to safety for its employees, customers, emergency personnel, and the general public. Barricade Services also excels in the following areas: • Delivery: The company meets or exceeds the predetermined delivery dates and times for its materials and services. • Quality control: Quality control protocols are used to ensure the quality of all goods and services and to also make sure that invoices are accurate. • Customer satisfaction: Barricade Services does its absolute best to avoid mistakes, but it is also committed to resolving customer concerns promptly, when necessary, about products, services, and billing. Toward the end of 2017, Gary and two of the traffic control technicians, Viliami Fifilau and Jose Allatore, received the prestigious Silver Barrel employee award for safety from UDOT because of their work on an emergency after-hours job they did for UDOT. A good friend and customer at Staker Parson Materials & Construction introduced Gary and Nicole to Craig Fabrizio a few years ago. Craig is the Director Liquid Procurement at Staker Parson. He immediately asked them to be part of the UAPA conference as sponsors so they could present their company and educate attendees about traffic control and safety. The UAPA team, which consists of staff members and committee members, made them welcome. The second year Gary and Nicole were sponsors, Nicole asked the UAPA team if she could be on the Planning Committee so she could help with planning the safety topics to be presented during the Utah Asphalt Conference. The team immediately said yes. Since Nicole joined the committee, she has organized presentations about traffic control and work-zone safety. UAPA strengthens the relationship between Barricade Services and all of its customers in the asphalt industry as well as the cities, counties, and UDOT. As far as Barricade Services is concerned, those relationships are priceless. In addition, the conference has a great focus on education in all areas of the asphalt industry as well as work zone and traffic control safety. The relationship goes both ways. UAPA values what Barricade Services brings to the table in terms of traffic control safety and work zone safety, and its leadership wants Barricade Services (as a traffic control industry) to have more of a voice and presence in the asphalt industry. UAPA’s leadership has welcomed Barricade Services from the beginning. That has been appreciated. As a result, the company’s employees are proud to be members of UAPA. 3 29
