25 UAPA’S SOCIAL AXE TOSS O ur first annual UAPAmember appre- ciation event was a huge success! Members from UAPA and their guests were invited to Social Axe in Salt Lake City for an axe-throwing party, lunch, and a great networking opportunity. This event was a way for UAPA to say, “Thanks!” The event started out with a lesson in axe throwing, along with some friendly com- petition, and ended with the top 20 axe throwers competing in an elimination-style tournament. Skyler Droubay fromDoubleD Distribution and Jesse Averett fromGeneva Rock went head-to-head to compete for the champion spot. In a drama-filled championshipmatch, Skyler clenched thewinwhenhis axehit the“beer can”target for 10 points on his last throw. UAPA is quickly growing to become one of thenation’s largest asphalt associations, and it’s all thanks to our great members. We are working hard to grow the association so it can continue to give our members oppor- tunities to learn, to network, and toget con- nected to all the great things happening in the asphalt pavement industry here inUtah. And, along the way, wemay even throw an axe or two to celebrate. Not a member, but want to become one? Sign up on the website, or by using the QR code.
