Rudy Ruettiger Opening Keynote - Day 1 Against all odds on a gridiron in South Bend, Indiana, Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger, in twenty-seven seconds, carved his name into history books as perhaps the most famous graduate of the University of Notre Dame. The son of an oil refinery worker and the third of 14 children, Rudy rose from valleys of discouragement and despair to the pinnacles of success. In 1993, TRISTAR Productions immortalized his life story with the blockbuster film, RUDY. Today, he is one of the most popular motivational speakers in the United States. David Okerland Lunch Keynote - Day 1 David Okerlund grew up in a rural, Midwestern town of Manchester, Iowa where as a young teenager he saved up money to go on to college by working on the town’s garbage route. Till this day he still says that, “It was the best job I have ever had in my entire career. It taught me more about the value of commitment and endurance than one might ever dare to believe.” In 1983 David’s speaking abilities gained national attention when he finished in the final three of the World Championship of Public Speaking; a contest that includes over 20,000 contestants from over 45 different countries. Carlos Braceras Opening UDOT Update - Day 2 Carlos Braceras is executive director of the Utah Department of Transportation, a position he has held since May 2013. A native of New Jersey, Carlos came to work at UDOT in 1986 because, quite honestly, he loved the skiing in Utah. In the 30 years that have passed since then, he has helped to shape UDOT’s strategic direction and its mission of innovat- ing transportation solutions that strengthen Utah’s economy and enhance the quality of life, making it one of the most respected and influential DOT’s in the nation. Sydne Jacque Opening Keynote - Day 2 Sydne Jacques is an engineer turned CEO and professional speaker; often referred to as the “the engineer with a personal- ity.” Sydne has built an award-winning company with clients around the world, has trained over 10,000 individuals and has facilitated team-building for more than 300 different construction teams. Tim Border Lunch Keynote - Day 2 TimBorder has been a professor atWeber State University in the Department of Professional Sales since 1992.
